Hindi News - Google, as we say it, has answers to everything!
Google is the most popular search engine around the whole world. Be it school
projects or a business research, Google has always been of great help. Ever
wondered what life without Google would be like? Never even imagined that! As of today, life
without Google is handicapped!
On the 4th of April, 2012, district judge
of Vishakhapatnam restrained Google from performing with an enactment issued by
the superior court of California, ordering Google to share the password of the
Gmail account belonging to an Indian citizen of Vishakhapatnam thus giving rise
to the Google case in India. The Plaintiff in this case argued that as an
Indian citizen he had a right to privacy under the Indian Constitution and that
the defendants could not violate his right. The government allowed the court to
prosecute the Internet companies under various Indian laws in the criminal
case. The criminal suit was filed against the Internet companies in a separate
court in Delhi, by Vinay Rai, a newspaper editor. Google and some others
appealed the criminal court's decision before the Delhi High Court. In the
civil court, Google agreed to take off the content that was looked upon as
objectionable.
However,
the Google India's name was taken out from the suit for trial of various social
networking websites for allegedly hosting offending contents. Google
India pleaded that it is only a subsidiary of internet giant Google Inc and
does not operate the website; hence it should be removed from the array of
parties. Agreeing with its altercation, the judge dropped the Google case in India against the
company saying "it is a subsidiary of Google Inc registered in India and
is a software developer company which has no role in running of Google Inc."
Administrative Civil Judge Praveen Singh descended
the case against Google India and agreed with its plea that it does not operate
any social networking website. He also said, “It is a subsidiary of Google Inc registered in
India and is a software developer company which has no role in running of
Google Inc.” since the Google case in
India is hailed, it can now breathe easy.
Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook and other
Internet companies have been named in separate civil and criminal suits filed
in Delhi courts for displaying objectionable, abhorrent content on their
websites. Thus, many people have developed interest for reading such news.
